K.J. recently moved to Nashville from North Carolina where he was a Youth Pastor and Music Director for 5.5 years. A native of California, K.J. moved to NC when he joined the Army as a Paratrooper with the 118th Airborne Division. He is the founder of "ACCESS", Fort Braggs largest youth ministry. He spent the last 5.5 years reaching out to military kids from all over the world and from every walk of life. He spent a year touring as a vocalist and entertainer where he met his wife in 2004, also a fellow soldier. While on tour, they were engaged in Venice Italy and were married in November of that year. They have an indescribable passion for the youth of today and have dedicated their life to reaching out and loving as many kids as they can to an intimate relationship with Jesus Christ.

"I have been working with youth for the last 5+ years and have led countless kids to an intimate and growing relationship with Jesus. But NONE of what God has done through my ministry was because of programs, trips, studies or an endless budget. My wife and I made sure our focus and energy was spent developing deep and intimate relationships with each kid that stretched outside of the church walls. Once a relationship was nurtured and grown, I made sure each kid was challenged to know why they believe what they believe and to be able to defend and share it with anyone who asked. Far too often kids rely on their parent's faith to carry them through high school. But as soon as those pillars of Mom and Dad get ripped away, their faith comes tumbling down and they don't know what to do with themselves. That is why my ministry mindset is not designed to keep the kids comfortable where they are. They will know EXACTLY what it means to call yourself a Christian, and what it takes to maintain a relationship with Jesus Christ that you can call your OWN! This next season of Tusculum Hills is an exciting and challenging one. The youth will need the prayers and support of every single person in this body. They are our future and they deserve every opportunity to grow and mature to adult followers of Jesus. But Emily and I also need your support and prayers. We are ready. We are excited. We are going to rock these kids's world!"
